Brief:

Create a short video call-to-action to provoke the

UK population to protest climate change

Big Idea:

Use comedy the power of comedy to make it quotable!

The final video posted above and is a comedic but impactful piece visually storytelling the effects of the climate crisis. Discretion is advised as the video does contain rude language.
I intially started experimenting with textures for the globe scene and its different biomes. Originally I was intending on hand animating the spin as I was nervous about attempting 3D work having never touched it before; Unfortunately my origianl technique was not effecient for the timeline so I soon switched to experimenting with 3D.
The project quickly became a passion project for myself and my team and we rallyed our peers (including our lecturers) to provide their own rude exclamation to be included in our campaign. We believe that as well as being fun, this also helped us to illustrate to our audience that the demographic to be angry about climate change is vast- everyone is angry about it!
We also reached out beyond our course peers to ask those form a wider community and of all nationalities to provide us with their best voice recording of a rude idiom from their language for use in our video as our bird travel the devastating world!
Finally, we recieved some feedback from a visiting lecturer to make the backgrounds further polluted and devastated (mentioning as an example, the oranges doomsday sky that hit New York in recent times). whilst we fixed the animation from the glitch, a couple of us went back and doomsday-ified the backgrounds- and finally it was ready to be premiered!
